MOUs and Agreements
The Agricultural Land Commission enters into memorandums of understanding and agreements with local governments to improve the coordination and integration of interdependent programs. These agreements clarify the roles and responsibilities of the parties and outline operating procedures.
The following list identifies the agreements that the Commission has entered into with local governments pertaining to the Agricultural Land Reserve. To view an agreement, click on the title of the one you wish to see.
- Greater Vancouver Regional District
The Livable Region Strategic Plan Implementation Agreement creates a partnership between the Greater Vancouver Regional District and the Commission on supporting agriculture in Greater Vancouver and the Livable Region.
- Islands Trust
The Islands Trust and the Commission have an agreement to work together on agricultural and environmental issues in relation to their respective mandates.
- Regional District of Fraser-Fort George
The Commission entered into its first delegation agreement with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George which grants decision making powers for subdivision and non-farm use applications within approved Official Community Plan areas.
- Regional District of East Kootenay
This delegation agreement grants the Regional District authority to make decisions on subdivision and non-farm use applications within an area covered by the Wasa-Ta Ta Creek-Skookumchuck-Sheep Creek Land Use Bylaw No. 1625.
