ALC 2008/09 Annual Report

The Commission presents its Annual Report for fiscal year 2008/09. The document reflects the work of the Commission over the past fiscal year and includes general background information on the ALC and ALR, statistics, examples of applications considered in each region of the province and planning exercises the Commission participated in.

The Commission presents its Business Plan for fiscal year 2009/10. This document sets out the ALC's goals and objectives for the coming year.

 
Governance Policy Update

The purpose of the Agricultural Land Commission Governance Policy is to ensure that appropriate processes and standards for conduct for the Commission, its Members and its management are established and monitored. This policy sets out standards and processes that the Commission considers the ideal for meeting its responsibilities and is amended from time to time. The March 2009 update of the Governance Policy can be found in the Publications section of the ALC Website at Governance Policy – March 2009.


 
ALR REVIEW - SUBDIVISIONS, CHILLIWACK  

The Agricultural Land Commission has initiated a review of subdivision approvals granted by the City of Chilliwack dating back to the mid-1990s to the present time. [More]



Community Planning Guidelines are written for local governments preparing new and updated plans and bylaws affecting lands in the ALR.

Powers for local governments to make decisions on subdivisions and non-farm land use applications. [ Information Kit ]

Soil Removal and Fill Placement in the Agricultural Land Reserve are designated as non-farm uses requiring an application in the Act. The Agricultural Land Reserve Use, Subdivision and Procedure Regulation establishes an entirely new results-based process and also provides for certain exemptions.
